"I much prefer more intimate parties, like this," said one.
The wine was good, the grouper a tad bland but decent. Local PR power-socializer was flitting about, in awe of her posse of pretty twentysomethings.
If no one truly famous showed up, it was easier to chat with those who did arrive.
The aforementioned filmmaker spoke of an earlier party devoted to student films where only one actual student attended. The rest of the room was filled with corporate sponsors and young women just a tad too desperate to be actresses.
"It was pretty sick."
